At Heidi’s Encanto’s Studio, we believe good skincare starts with good ingredients.
Our tallow is locally sourced from J. Galvan Mini Farms in the Rio Grande Valley, where we obtain the beef fat used to create our small-batch tallow. From there, the process stays close to home: we render our own tallow in-house, carefully transforming it into a clean, versatile ingredient that we use in our handcrafted skincare and artisan soaps.
This isn't mass-produced tallow shipped in from somewhere else. It's part of our commitment to keeping our products connected to the people, farms, and community around us.
From Local Farm to Handmade Skincare

Our tallow starts locally with J. Galvan Mini Farms here in the RGV.
We carefully render it in-house and transform it into the handcrafted products you find at Heidi’s Encanto’s.
Our tallow begins with locally sourced beef fat from J. Galvan Mini Farms.
We then render and prepare the tallow ourselves before incorporating it into select Heidi’s Encantos products, including:
Artisan tallow soaps
Whipped tallow balms
Emulsified tallow body butters
Tallow-based lotions and other handcrafted skincare
Every batch is made in small quantities, allowing us to focus on the ingredients, texture, and quality of each product.

Tallow has a long history of being used in traditional skin and body care. Its rich, nourishing feel makes it a natural fit for the handcrafted products we create.
We especially love working with tallow because it gives our formulas a rich, creamy quality while allowing us to combine it with other ingredients we love, such as shea butter, calendula oil, jojoba oil, rosehip oil, aloe, and vitamin E.
Our approach is simple: use thoughtfully chosen ingredients and make products we would be proud to use ourselves.
Our Rendering Process
Liquid Gold Made Here in the RGV
Carefully rendered in-house, our tallow is the foundation of many of our handcrafted products.
We don't simply purchase finished tallow and put it into our products.
We start with locally sourced beef fat and render it ourselves in-house. Rendering allows us to transform the raw fat into the tallow we use as an ingredient in our handcrafted products.
From there, the tallow may become part of a soap recipe, a whipped balm, or an emulsified body butter depending on the product we're creating.
Because our products are handmade in small batches, the process is hands-on from beginning to end.

Rose Tallow
Our in-house rendered RGV tallow becomes the foundation for some of our most cherished handcrafted products. This Rose Tallow Balm is blended with shea butter, calendula oil, vitamin E, and rosehip oil, then carefully made in small batches here in the Rio Grande Valley.
Heidi’s Encantos Studio is a small-batch handmade business rooted in the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas.
